This year has refilled and renewed my heart as a photographer. From Orlando to Atlanta, Long Beach to New York City, Washington D.C. to China, and a hundred places in between - the past year has been a fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me.
Non-stop travel can be exhilarating and exhausting all at once. It's not always the glitz and glamour that we all like to pretend it to be. There's landslides that leave you stranded for days and airport delays that make every muscle tense and exhausted. But the dream remains.
I talk about my dream job as an international photographer as if it were hypothetical. I often speak about it as if it were going to happen one day. Apparently, the list above isn't "big" enough or the "world" enough for my brain somedays. When I grow up...
If I can take the time to see what's really in front of me for the reality of what it is... I'm hired to travel and document others' stories. Weddings, growing families, non-profits and for profit companies alike - I'm doing what I love. Maybe it isn't always glamorous or perfect, but that's not the life I've chosen.
Today, I'm feeling lifted and loving the gift I've been given.
